The Beauty of Prague!

Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the amazing city of Prague!

Prague is the capital city of Czech Republic. It has a population of 2 million in it’s greater metropolitan area and is part of UNESCO’s world heritage sites.

The city is 1200 years old and it is incredibly romantic and beautiful.

Me, my wife and my daughter had the luck of being able to go there for a short but very intense and successful visit. We were visiting my wife’s cousin, but as you can imagine I took every opportunity I could to photograph as much as possible.

I borrowed my wife’s camera during this trip, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and I just brought the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM. I didn’t want to carry a lot of things around because of my daughter. She was only 1.5 years old at the time so me and my wife had to support each other with the whole child caring part of the trip. The equipment I brought proved to be more than enough. I love the 35mm, it’s a beautiful lens and I’m not complaining about the 70-200mm either!

We visited many other places in Czech Republic but in this article I will only focus on Prague.

We mostly got around with the metro. It was very comfortable and easy. We just jumped on with my daughters baby carrier and saw many parts of the city with ease.

I am kind of ashamed of saying this; but during this part of the trip I was really hung over from the night before.

I had been joking around with my wife’s cousin that they would ‘Czech Republic’ me when I got there, meaning getting me really really drunk, and of course her and her husband had to just show me what getting ‘Czech Republic’ really meant. Even though I was really hung over me and my family really enjoyed this trip and we can’t wait to go back.

Don’t miss trying Czech beer if you go for a visit, It was so good. Every city in Czech republic has its own brewery and its own brand of beer. But, remember don’t drink to much, you could drop your camera in one of the canals or something!!
